The Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Committee of Greater Middletown is committed to maintaining, expanding, and celebrating the “Vision of Excellence” established by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a dream that continues to inspire the African American community and people around the world. The Committee fulfills this mission by creating opportunities for students to excel in education and business through scholarship awards and support. We strive to develop the leaders of tomorrow by promoting positive self-images, encouraging responsibility and respect for others, and educating youth about the invaluable contributions of African Americans throughout history. As a viable resource within the community, we are dedicated to promoting the ideals of Dr. King and inspiring young people to cultivate a spirit of service, leadership, and social responsibility.
